 Title:

 

Registered Nurse

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  1. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License

 

  1. Effective communication

 

  1. Valid Providers’ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent from the American Red Cross

 

  1. Required criminal history background check and proof of S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

 

Job Goal:

 

To promote health and safety in the school environment and provide health services to students, faculty and staff.

 

Reports to:                 Supervisor of Nursing Services

 

Performance Responsibilities:

 

  1. Works cooperatively with a certified school nurse to ensure a healthy school climate and to minimize absence due to illness.
  2. Provides special health care and related services to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  3. Administers prescribed medication to students in accordance with law and board policy.
  4. Promotes healthy/safe school environment by assisting the administration and staff to maintain safe and sanitary conditions throughout the

 

  1. Reports problems promptly to the
  2. Provides emergency care in case of sudden illness and administers first-aid in case of injury to students or staff according to established policies and
  3. Conducts health screenings as required by law and/or board

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Maintains student health records, as required by Jaw and/or board policies;

 

  1. Assesses and recommends to the school principal the exclusion of students who show evidence of communicable disease, or who have not submitted acceptable evidence of immunizations, pursuant to Jaw and/or board policy;

 

I 0. Provides appropriate responses to DNR orders;

 

  1. Maintains a valid, current Providers Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification from the American Heart Association or the equivalent from the American Red Cross;

 

  1. Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor of Nursing Services and/or building administrator.

 

 

Terms of Employment:

 

1O months; non-tenurable

 

Evaluated by the Supervisor of Nursing Services and the building Principal consistent with collective negotiations agreement.

 

Compensation and benefits as established by the collective negotiations agreement.
