Title:
Registered Nurse
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Effective communication
- Valid Providers’ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent from the American Red Cross
- Required criminal history background check and proof of S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
Job Goal:
To promote health and safety in the school environment and provide health services to students, faculty and staff.
Reports to: Supervisor of Nursing Services
Performance Responsibilities:
- Works cooperatively with a certified school nurse to ensure a healthy school climate and to minimize absence due to illness.
- Provides special health care and related services to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
- Administers prescribed medication to students in accordance with law and board policy.
- Promotes healthy/safe school environment by assisting the administration and staff to maintain safe and sanitary conditions throughout the
- Reports problems promptly to the
- Provides emergency care in case of sudden illness and administers first-aid in case of injury to students or staff according to established policies and
- Conducts health screenings as required by law and/or board
- Maintains student health records, as required by Jaw and/or board policies;
- Assesses and recommends to the school principal the exclusion of students who show evidence of communicable disease, or who have not submitted acceptable evidence of immunizations, pursuant to Jaw and/or board policy;
I 0. Provides appropriate responses to DNR orders;
- Maintains a valid, current Providers Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification from the American Heart Association or the equivalent from the American Red Cross;
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor of Nursing Services and/or building administrator.
Terms of Employment:
1O months; non-tenurable
Evaluated by the Supervisor of Nursing Services and the building Principal consistent with collective negotiations agreement.
